InfraGard Nation's Capital Members Alliance (DC Chapter) (INCMA) will be hosting an outstanding event at the Springfield Hilton on June 29th, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. This promises to be a very interesting evening with two excellent speakers, good food and plenty of networking opportunities in the spacious meeting room! Guest speakers include Greg Fowler, Special Agent in Charge, FBI, New York Field Office, and Matthew Wombacher, DHS Protective Security Advisor. The ticket price for this event is $25 and will feature a hot buffet and cash bar. This is an open event for anyone, you do not have to be an InfraGard Member to attend and feel free to invite a friend. We prefer that you register but will accept payment by check or cash at the door.

Following the speaker's initial presentation there will be a question and answer period, with plenty of time for networking and getting to know fellow members and attendees. Membership cards will be available at the event for those who have not received their new cards.
Greg Fowler SAC for Counterterrorism FBI New York
In March 2008 Greg Fowler was named Special Agent in Charge (SAC) for Counterterrorism in the FBI’s New York Division by Director Robert S. Mueller, III. Since that time Mr. Fowler has managed several high-profile counterterrorism investigations including the recent “Times Square Bomber “case. Prior to his appointment Mr. Fowler served as Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) in the Chicago Division.
In February 2000, Mr. Fowler transferred to the Seattle Division, where he supervised the Organized Crime/Drug Squad, the Special Operations Group, the Cyber Squad, and two resident agencies. He also supervised the division’s Evidence Response Team and Hazardous Materials Response Team. In August 2004, he was temporarily assigned to Baghdad, Iraq, where he served as the FBI’s Deputy On-Scene Commander in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Mr. Fowler was promoted to ASAC of the FBI’s Chicago Division in August 2005, assigned to lead the operations of the division’s Counterterrorism Program, which includes the Joint Terrorism Task Force. His duties also included oversight responsibility for the Intelligence, Cyber, Bomb Technician, Hazardous Materials, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Crisis Management, and Special Events Programs. He served in this position until his appointment as SAC for Counterterrorism in the New York Division.
Matthew Wombacher, Protective Security Advisor, DHS
Matthew Wombacher currently serves as the Protective Security Advisor (PSA) for the National Capital Region District. Mr. Wombacher supports homeland security efforts, serving in an advising and reach-back capacity for State and District Homeland Security Advisors. He contributes to the development of the national risk picture by assisting with the identification, assessment, monitoring, and minimizing of risk to critical assets at the local level. As a PSA, Mr. Wombacher facilitates, coordinates, and performs vulnerability assessments for local critical infrastructures and assets, and acts as a physical and technical security advisor to Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies.
Prior to becoming a PSA, Mr. Wombacher served in the United States Secret Service for nine years. Mr. Wombacher served in the Technical Security Division, the component of the Office of Protective Research within the Secret Service which operates as the focal point regarding countermeasures for all environmental threats to Secret Service protected persons and facilities. Disciplines included in this field are counter-explosives and counter-IED measures, CBRN incident prevention and mitigation, Fire/Life/Safety and physical security planning, and continuity of operations planning among other countermeasures programs. This routinely involved domestic and worldwide travel as a member of Presidential Advance teams.
Mr. Wombacher brings extensive experience, comprehensive knowledge, in-depth training, and instructional aptitude with regard to the areas of security operations and planning. While assigned to the US Secret Service, Mr. Wombacher coordinated several key training programs for the Technical Security Division.
Prior to employment in the US Secret Service, Mr. Wombacher served eight years in the US Coast Guard performing a variety of assignments. Highlights include selection for duty assignment to the Presidential Honor Guard, and serving as Air Navigator onboard the HC-130H long range aircraft. Mr. Wombacher holds additional professional certification from the ASIS International organization as a Certified Protection Professional.
